I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, but that's never stopped me before.
The Van is in Rough Shape...Time for Repairs, A Stereo Upgrade, and a Last Minute Eclipse Road Trip
It's taken me a while to get around to this, but knowing that I'll be living in the van for over six weeks this summer, I knew this would be the only time I would have to not only replace my countertop, but also get a new radio with actual Bluetooth! In between these improvements though, I took the van on a once-in-a-lifetime trip just a few hours away from my home to see the total solar eclipse.

I Finally Learned How to Do the Everglades Right...Sort Of
Просмотров 7123 месяца назад
After leaving the park early last year, I've returned for some redemption! Something interesting I learned on this trip: mosquitoes are attracted to the color black, as well as other shades like cyan, red, and orange. Apparently it's something to do with how they perceive certain wavelengths of light. Wish I'd known before wearing my finest black leggings and sports bra. Support me on Patreon f...
Nobody Likes Congaree National Park, So I Went There and Had a Less Than Glamorous Time
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.4 месяца назад
Congaree is one of the least popular national parks in the US, and honestly, one I had never heard of until a few years ago. Most of the year it seems the area is plagued by mosquitos, so I thought I could avoid that by coming during the cooler months. Was it worth it? Your right about the imperfections. I know my van isn't perfect lol. How long did the paint smell last though? I want to do the same in the future
Honestly not long at all! Definitely kept the doors open for it to dry though so I’m sure that helped
Young Lady, you are the bombdigity! I have enjoyed watching you convert your van. I have watched many many and you are a natural. Looking forward to more adventures!
Tape is the best way to hold it up like you said, when I get to that stage, that's what I'll do. Looks good 👍🏾 keep it up
That's pretty good work! Way better than mine 😅keep it up
0.64? 41k today shìt
When's the next video 😮
Binge watched the entire build in one day. Loved it. I have almost the same van 2014 express passenger. Feel like I'm a dude version of you except not as cool or good looking.
I appreciate detailed build vids like this
We got "trapped" at the top of the bluff on Wind Cave, when the bison came in off the prairie to the west, crossed the river, and the whole herd chose to meander slowly thru the parking lot. Saw a beautiful sunset while we were stuck up there.
Hi Lindsay, I found your channel today and am binge watching. What size engine is in your van and what kind of fuel mileage do you get? I thoroughly am having fun watching you build this. Love how your dad supports you. Blessings to you. I am Thankful I found your channel. Cannot wait to see your travels. Ann from Texas. Journey On
Hi Ann, thanks for watching! My express is a v6 4.3L and I get roughly 15-17mpg with a 25 gallon tank!
Not sure why but I’m stuck here for episode after episode. Best wishes
Best wishes for your trip! I have one planned later this year. Still don’t know the destination
I love seeing people overcoming difficult obstacles. You gained a new follower here. Im actually an above the knee amputee in the process of building my own van out right now. Since im a disabled veteran. It gives me the financial freedom to do the van life experience. Follow my journey if you want. Its gonna be fun😊
BUC-EE'S! 😃👍💛🍔🌭🥪🥨🍟🍕🍦🍨🥧🍪🍩🍫🍬🍭🧁🍰🍿🧃🥯🛍️
I Love It, I Went There At Two Different Times. This Time, I'll Be Going Over There Perhaps Five Times In A Single Year!
Yasss and thank you janiyah-ss4lb
It looks so fun
Love you
Today it’s $68k
Good to see you and the van doing well even if I'm a bit late to seeing this vid because I've been on my own trip to the US for the first time, your videos have been a big travel inspiration and I finally followed through on that ✌️
You need windows on the side
Some1 there busted a nut
Did the eclipse end briefly? I coulda sworn I saw the moon & the sun side by side for 1 hour..
Your language stinks and spoils your videos, there is no need. I'm sure I'm not the first to mention it. Clean it up, it'll mean a lot more to you in the long run but, I'm pretty sure that won't mean much to you. It'll be interesting if you post this comment.
The airboat ride is/was a better choice than the Shark Valley tram tower. Trust me , I live just 15 mins away near the Miccosukee.
I found your build interesting, somewhat capable.. Definitely livable! I first built a Suburban Overlander (Stolen). Currently building a Sailboat as well. Yesterday I bought a Van. Today I found you. Your trip sounds fun.. I'm planning the same thing, in a boat. My van is a 2002 Extended Savana. I hope to bump into you.
@19:56 I see option for camera. Back up camera would be great when arriving at camp late. Brighter reverse lights also maybe.
Auxiliary driving lights could be on your list if you get stuck traveling at night. For visibility you could use when weather being poopy during day as well.
What about a Dash Cam ? For safety
Good Job girl
I have one already! It’s exceedingly crappy though haha. Definitely due for a replacement
I disagree with most comments. Semple was petty. Doesn’t mean he was wrong tho lol. He’s the best kind of petty- justifiably and productively petty
Exactly!! You get it haha
I like seeing you upgrade and buy some manufactured solutions to replace your (also awesome) diy solutions as you feel more confident in you+ur vans future! I'm tryna live a little vicariously through you, lately I've been trying to fix thrift electronics...
Excited to see your next adventure!!
So to help with mold on bed the have a mesh to put under your mattress to give it a breathable space also a thicker mattress will stop that also
The good thing is you bought either a chevy or ford. Every parts place has parts and every mechanic can work on them.
Nice job but you need safety glasses
well I hope these changes well get rid of that nasty mold..........take..care.....................and stay safe
They took advantage of ya not gonna lie.
For $2700, you got away on the low side. I've spent over $3K just on a whim while at a tire shop!
Hey Lindsey long time no hear Hey if you ever get a chance check out U-joint off-road Colorado they're located in Montrose Colorado they got some van built out there that I think you might like let me know what you think
What is the size of you 2 bed panels you replaced?
Wow! The shop that did your brakes and tie rod end really screwed you! And thank God for amateurs.
I knowww they are so expensive, I am for sure pivoting to shop number two (the one that did my tire, etc). I’m somewhat new to my area so still kinda exploring different mechanic options.
9:55 Spoiler Alert: Vans get messy no matter what you do (besides cleaning them up)... such is a fact of (van)life...
hi you can put a sheet of hyper vent under your matress and that will stop the mold problem..............take care
Ah, that’s a fantastic suggestion, thanks so much!
Cut more holes in the plywood under the mattress for ventilation, there should be a lot more
Nice work on audio installation; Very impressed!!!
Always keep an emergency fund.
UMMMM THE CAMERA ATTACHED TO THE JIGSAW POV???
I wanted to see what the saw saw
girl omg you are organized!!
You are my inspiration you did it better than I can and I am a retired engineer. I am looking forward to making it happen this fall with a $10 000 budget thanks for your insights and enjoy you many adventures Franklyn L
That's awesome, thanks for this video because I'm currently saving up for a van and know nothing about vehicles. What's the service that you used to inspect the van you ended up buying?
LemonSquad!
Thanks for the honest review. I'm looking to stop at Congaree in September, to check the box on the National Parks list. I didn't have high hopes(still don't) but at least I have someone's honest perspective. Thanks!
It should be quite nice in September! I was there in late December, which is a little less leafy and beautiful, but also less buggy, so there’s that haha. I definitely regret not kayaking on Cedar Creek!
Sweeping views in a swamp?
Listen to that part again I think you missed something
grind the minimalist style, it’s rad!
I love your channel, keep up the great work, love the content! Greetings from Riverside in sunny Southern California. This is Alan, safe travels ok??!!
